چکیده

MREC is a new recursive best-first search algorithm which combines the good features of A* and IDA* . It Is closer in operation to IDA*, and does not use an OPEN list. In order to execute, all MREC needs is sufficient memory for its implicit stack. But it can also be fed at runtime a parameter M which tells it how much additional memory is available for use. In this extra memory, MREC stores as much as possible of the explicit graph. When M = 0, MREC is identical to IDA*. But when M > 0, it can make far fewer node expansions than IDA* . This can be advantageous for problems where the time to expand a node is significant. Extensive runs on a variety of search problems, involving search graphs that may or may not be trees, indicate that MREC with M = 0 is as good as IDA* on problems such as the 15puzzle for which IDA* is suitable, while MREC with large M is as fast as A* on problems for which node expansion time is not negligible.

Recursive Best-First AND/OR Search for Optimization in Graphical Models

The paper presents and evaluates the power of limited memory best-first search over AND/OR spaces for optimization tasks in graphical models. We propose Recursive Best-First AND/OR Search with Overestimation (RBFAOO), a new algorithm that explores the search space in a best-first manner while operating with restricted memory. We enhance RBFAOO with a simple overestimation technique aimed at min...

Parallel Recursive Best-First AND/OR Search for Exact MAP Inference in Graphical Models

The paper presents and evaluates the power of parallel search for exact MAP inference in graphical models. We introduce a new parallel shared-memory recursive best-first AND/OR search algorithm, called SPRBFAOO, that explores the search space in a best-first manner while operating with restricted memory. Our experiments show that SPRBFAOO is often superior to the current state-of-the-art sequen...

Parallel Best-First Search of State-Space Graphs: A Summary of Results

This paper presents many different parallel formulations of the A*/Branch-and-Bound search algorithm. The parallel formulations primarily differ in the data structures used. Some formulations are suited only for shared-memory architectures, whereas others are suited for distributedmemory architectures as well. These parallel formulations have been implemented to solve the vertex cover problem a...

Forward Perimeter Search with Controlled Use of Memory

There are many hard shortest-path search problems that cannot be solved, because best-first search runs out of memory space and depth-first search runs out of time. We propose Forward Perimeter Search (FPS), a heuristic search with controlled use of memory. It builds a perimeter around the root node and tests each perimeter node for a shortest path to the goal. The perimeter is adaptively exten...

Nootropic Medicinal Plants; Evaluating Potent Formulation By Novelestic High throughput Pharmacological Screening (HTPS) Method

The principle of this method was to screen the pharmacological activity of six prepared polyphyto formulations by using high throughput screening method for their nootropic action. The study was performed in three stages using one, two and three animals, respectively in a group. Test formulations were given p.o daily at the dose of 50 and 100 mg/kg body weight. The test formulations were compar...
